6月7日安達太良登山にて、サラサドウダンがあちこちに咲いてました。ツツジ科の落葉低木です。日本のみに自生、海外では見られませんとのことです、日本の近畿地方より北の山地に生息しています。サラサドウダンの漢字表記は、花の様子を夜空に輝く満天の星に例えられたことから「更紗満天星」となっています。花言葉が「明るい未来」・・サラサドウダンの明るい花の色が由来となっています。
白地にピンクの縦筋模様が入って、先端は5つに裂けています。
